¡BIENVENIDOS A ESTE RINCÓN (o volvemos a él)! / Oscar Senonez en Substack 

Hace unos años, allá por 2009, empecé a escribir sobre ilustración editorial en un blog que, la verdad, terminó cubierto de polvo digital. Eran textos algo toscos, pero sinceros: hablaba de la diferencia entre dibujar e ilustrar, de esa cadena invisible que une al escritor, al editor, al diseñador y al ilustrador, del oficio entendido como algo más que hacer "dibujos lindos". Intentaba desmontar algunas de las ideas que todos dábamos por sentadas en el mundo de los libros ilustrados.

Lo que pasó después fue una sorpresa para mi.

Hoy vuelvo renovado a escribir sobre el oficio de la ilustración con el mismo entusiasmo ( o más) de aquella época. Espero que te sumes a este rincón de los entresijos de la ilustración.

A few years ago, back in 2009, I started writing about editorial illustration on a blog that, truth be told, ended up covered in digital dust. The texts were somewhat rough, but sincere: I wrote about the difference between drawing and illustrating, about that invisible chain that connects the writer, the editor, the designer, and the illustrator, about the craft understood as something more than making "pretty drawings." I tried to dismantle some of the ideas we all took for granted in the world of illustrated books.

What happened next came as a surprise to me.

Today I return, renewed, to writing about the craft of illustration with the same enthusiasm (or even more) than back then. I hope you'll join me in this little corner devoted to the inner workings of illustration.
